Malcolm de Chazal Exhibition – April 4th to April 31st 2019

£9.99

Maison André Breton, St-Cirq-Lapopie, France.

André Breton was the ‘leader’ of the Surrealists. Malcolm de Chazal sent one of his texts to the Surrealists in Paris. Breton said that he was a Surrealist and he should really try painting (up to that point he had been an alchemical writer of aphoristic, mystical and philosophical texts).

This exhibition was held in Breton’s house in the south of France, which he owned until his death in 1966. This was a very important exhibition since it was like bringing the two mighty figures back together one more time.
